The rich fertile soils surrounding the Motueka township, coupled with balmy sea breezes and some of New Zealand's consistently highest sunshine readings are the ideal climate in which to craft the aromatic wines Anchor Bay produces.

Anchor Bay Wines are produced at the Northern end of the South Island, known as the Nelson Tasman region, which boasts the most sunshine hours in New Zealand.

The soils in the Nelson Tasman region are renowned for producing rich, full bodied wines, which can be attributed to the bountiful surrounding environment.

The region also encapsulates sheltered, sandy coastlines leading to rugged mountains, making it an idyllic spot to grow grapes, make wine and enjoy the sights.
